Family Fun in Iowa

It's not very often extended family has the chance to come together so we a cousin on Reid's side of the family announced she was engaged we were all thrilled we could come together to celebrate. We arrived a day early to let our boys settle in a bit and stayed in Des Moines at the Ramada Tropics Resort which I picked because the pool was a water park! I thought it would be a great way to get some energy out and it was, but small problem the pool was a bit cold and our littlest didn't last too long. But both boys enjoyed the pirate ship slides and we had a fun morning before driving down to Rathbun Lake to meet up with family.

Most of our weekend was spent at Honeycreek Resort where all the family stayed in cabins or the hotel there. It was a beautiful property and I loved the arrangements of the cabins. Carson and his cousin John, who is a few months older than him, stayed in a cabin with us and the boys had lots of fun playing together. It's so fun seeing them grow up and interact with each other now.

And now for the reason we all came together. Reid's cousins' wedding was beautiful and we are so happy for the newlyweds. Thanks for having us Piper and Jared!

We had a later flight out of Des Moines the next day so after leaving the cabin we headed to the zoo to kill some time. It was a wonderful zoo, perfect weather and even had a train we could ride. And now I can check Iowa of states I've visited!
