It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Well this wasn't the best of weeks. Everything seemed to go wrong and stress after stress factor just piled on, and the end of the week couldn't come soon enough. But it finally arrived and Reid treated me to a blast from the past.

Oh the memories! I was also surpised to see Josh and Reid's Christmas tree, with presents already under it.

Good job boys, nicely done!

Things we get to look forward to this week: K-State basketball game at the Sprint Center, meeting with the florist, and finishing up registering. Oh and a paid day off! Can't complain about that.

Who Would Have Guessed...Another Wedding Post!

Reid and I had a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. Reid's wedding ring came in and we picked it up. Only 6 more months and he can wear it!

Aside from the ring, we finalized our honeymoon plans. Looks like we are heading to Jamaica for a week in the sun! We opted out of Greece because a car seemed a little more important. We also decided to get our intials engraved in our champagne flutes. They turned out AWESOME!

After the holidays I'm sure things are going to fly by and I coudn't be more excited. Can't wait for all the details to start coming together!

We May Be Moving On...But Our Wildcat Pride Will Stay Forever

It was a sad State Saturday as Reid and I attended our last home game for a little while. Luckily our team decided to play today so we got to enjoy the "entire" game! It was the perfect ending to an unfortunate year of football for K-State. But we still wore our purple proudly and will continue to wherever we go next.

The Peaceful Konza

Sunday, we took advantage of the BEAUTIFUL weather and went hiking on the Konza Prairie. Plus Reid got to test drive the new car and see how it handles the gravel road!!

Welcome to the Family...

Even though our football team sucked today, we still had a good Saturday because Reid parted with an old semi-friend. Today we said goodbye to the Sentra and hello to...

This is our new car, a 2006 Jeep Liberty!!! We went this morning to just see if they had any decent ones at the Jeep dealership in town. We did the paperwork and got to drive it off the lot. From there, Tara decided to get me an early Christmas present...

While we were out running errands, we went to get some more wedding stuff...

It's Time To Grow Up

...UPDATE...

So while we were researching law schools, we worked up quite an appetite! Here was our dinner...grilled chicken, green peppers, mushrooms and zuchinni, homemade mashed potatoes and for desert a peach on the grill with honey, cinnamon and sugar!

.............................................................................

I took the LSAT on Saturday morning this past weekend...but I won't find out how I did for two to three weeks. I took a full practice test on Friday afternoon before Tara got to Manhattan that I didn't do too hot on, but I felt like I did much better on the one on Saturday! It was nice that I got out in time to go to the KSU-Texas Tech football game (which TT stomped us)!

Also, one of the tasks that Tara and I had for this weekend in Manhattan was to make final decisions on which law schools I want to apply for. Here is the final list (in order that I/we want to go to):

University of Colorado (Boulder, CO)
University of Utah (Salt Lake City, UT)
University of Oregon (Eugene, OR)
University of Wyoming (Laramie, WY)
Wake Forest University (Winston-Salem, NC)
Gonzaga University (Spokane, WA)
Santa Clara University (Santa Clara, CA)
Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) - Tara couldn't stop laughing because their mascot is the fighting camels...

Engagement Ring

5 diamonds and many a tears later, we decided it was time for a new ring. The other one was just poorly made and I was at the point where I had it off more than on. I was pretty much afraid to wear the thing. So we went back to the jeweler and traded in the band. Here it is...

This ring came with a band as well. One less thing we have to worry about later!

Who Summoned The Wizard

Reid came back home this weekend and we headed to a Wizards game. This one was all hyped up because Beckham was in town. That didn't stop the Wizards though from having 2 amazing goals for the win (2-0).

We not only saw 1, but 2 great soccer stars at the game. Landon Donovan from the USA team plays for the Galaxy as well.

Half time was pretty entertaining. It was a soccer game between local area mascots. There were mascots for the local radio stations, Mr. Goodcents, Rockhurst, Culvers and many more (plus a ridiculous blow-up lego, like the Huskers mascot).

But despite the rather rainy end of the week/weekend, it held off for the game and the weather was perfect! Good game to go to. But we can't forget to mention the good Brats Josh and Reid cooked up. I think by the end of football season they will both become master grillers at tailgates!

It's Football Season

Our first football game turned out perfect!! Aside from the drizzles, the weather was perfect for football season. Now I'm ready for the Big 12 games to start.

Unfortunately we weren't able to make it to the first football game. A little disappointing because my favorite player was being honored at half time. Instead, we were back in Kansas City at the wedding of one of my bridesmaids and Patti made the cake!! She had the same cake topper we are going to use.

Just a wedding update! We're a little less than 9 months out and I can't wait. It sucks not living where Reid is. We now officially have all the majors out of the way. I picked up my dress last Thursday (exciting) and also finalized the florist last week (my favorite part). Now it's on to the details and getting ready to put everything together. Oh and we start our marriage counseling next week!!

Engagement Pictures

Tara and I had our engagement pictures taken Saturday! You can check them out at http://www.mshphotography.net/. There will be a link labeled "Tara and Reid" on the left under 'Recent Photos', or you can always put the information in the 'Find Photos' box:

We went to Antioch Park then to Brush Creek and the Kauffman Memorial Garden. Hope you like them!!!

On Sunday, we had a homemade pizza complements of mom...even though she made me get back to Manhattan late! It was really good and she learned her lesson that the tomatoes go on top (even though I told her...she apologized though)! It was pretty much one of the best pizzas I have ever had...fresh mozz, fresh parmesan, fresh basil, olive oil, roma tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, and capicola!

Flowery Suprise

I had a wonderful suprise waiting for me when I returned from lunch...
THANKS REIDO!!
Everyone at work was anxiously waiting for me to get back from lunch so they could get the scoop on what was up. They were wondering if there was a special occassion or anything, but there wasn't. This is what my card said...
"Just because I wanted to make you smile! I love you and I miss you more and more everyday!"

Redneck Picnic

Tara is in Manhattan this weekend...and I had a surprise waiting for her when she got here.

I got some tealight candles, a bottle of wine (a 2004 pinot gris from austrailia), and a Papa Murphy's order-to-bake tomato, cheese, and herb pizza. It was one of the best pizzas we have ever had. I also rented "In Bruges" to watch and it was a pretty freakin weird movie, but there were some parts that we were both dying of laughter.

So the weather here in Manhattan sucks...it was supposed to be sunny and 83 all weekend and it has not stopped raining yet. We had to go run some errands in the rain to get K-State t-shirts for engagement pictures and then some veggies for fajitas tonight (they are gonna be good). Anyways, hopefully the weather is better for Tara to drive home in tomorrow...

Wedding Bells Are Ringing

We had a pretty eventful weekend in Omaha, Nebraska. One of Reid's fraternity brothers got married and Reid was an usher. It was a lot of fun and a great heads up for what we have coming for us!Our wedding planning is coming along fairly well. We have the reception hall, ceremony location, caterer, photographer, dj and the dress all picked out. Things are slowly coming together.

Doggies and Funny Ads

Tara and I had a nice relaxing weekend together...the first together in three weeks! When she left Manhattan I was bored so I started looking for dogs (wishing) and moved on to YouTube. I found the cutest dog in Reno, NV and decided that Tara and I were going to go adopt the dog and then get married all in the same trip...I later decided that wouldn’t be the best idea! Anyways, here is a picture of the dog and my favorite video on YouTube...

Colorado Visit

Welcome to Colorado! We went out to Colorado for the 4th of July. Reid also had a tour of the Wolf Law building at the University of Colorado, and we found some time for Tara to try climbing her first 14er, Mt. Bierstadt.

New Employment

The time has finally arrived...Tara found a big person job!

I went in today to observe the position and was offered the job. I start on Tuesday! A huge stress relief lifted off my shoulders. The company I will be working for is Idex and they are a legal research company. I will be doing some data entry. I was informed that the company is up for sale, and a prospected buyer is a national company which might be beneficial to me in the future! Thanks Patti for the tip on the ad in the paper!

Welcome

So we caved in and started a blog!

Tara went to Manhattan this past weekend and, as usual, we played some darts. Check out Tara's mad dart skills...
Even with those mad skills, Reid still wins just about everytime.
