Mommy's Little Roller

Well it seems I may have wrote Carson's three month post a few days too soon because he already has new things to report! On Monday I was picking up his room and he was watching his teddies in the crib. I look over to check on him and the stinker is laying on his stomach!! I couldn't believe that he rolled over! I ran down to get my phone and when I came back up he was on his stomach again!! So I finally was able to capture the third time :) I was completely suprised and amazed he picked this up so soon, but that quickly subsided when it came time for bed. He's never been a good sleeper without his pillow, but now with the rolling I felt it would be much safer to remove. The instant I would put him down, he would wake up a bit and roll right over. This meant tummy sleeping almost all night long and no sleep for mommy. I was a worried mess to say the least. But he did fine and survived the night with a couple more wake-ups and a lot more stirs than we are use to.

I think we have a tummy sleeper

We also ventured out to Wash Park in Denver to take some 3-month pictures. I think they turned out pretty good for taking myself. I love this little guy so much and his face is just precious to me (as it should be!)

I'll leave you with one more cute video of Carson. We were hanging out downstairs while Reid was working out and Carson was movin' and groovin' to the music (so we like to think).

Carson: 3 Months

Checking out my toes-ies

I think I say this every time, but where is time going?! Carson was three months old last week and that meant a big milestone for our family...Carson can finally go to the mountains :) Nonni (Reid's mom) was in town so we celebrated with a trip down to the Sangre de Cristo peaks. While the trip didn't go quite as planned, it was still fun to take Carson out and see how we would take to the altitude. He did pretty well and napped most of the time. Reid and I are hoping he'll keep enjoying our mountain adventures.

Thanks for coming to visit and being a trooper hiking Nonni

Carson continues to bring us joy every day. He is very smiley now and it is so fun to see him recognize his name and turn toward  you when you talk to him. Whenever we are having a long day, Carson is always there to put a smile on our face. We have such a happy little boy.

So not only did Nonni visit us last week, but before she came Josh came to visit since he had a layover in Denver. We took him to Evergreen to walk around the lake and chow down on Beau Jo's. It was the perfect Sunday! And lastly we took advantage of Nonni in town and Reid and I went on a put-put date. Unfortunately it was cut short by weather so we ventured over to Beatrice & Woodsley for some yummy dessert.

Little Man Updates

Carson at Ken Caryl: 11 weeks

I didn't realize it's been so long since I last posted. This first picture is one of my new favorites. His face is too precious! So happy I get to spend all my days with this little guy. Work has been going pretty well with Carson. I just take it day-by-day to keep myself from getting too overwhelmed. As for what he has been up to, there haven't been any new "milestones." He continues to make new noises and now more often too. I got a giggle the other day :) He holds his head up a little higher during tummy time but still doesn't quite know how to use his arms. He also uses tummy time as an opportunity to eat the mat. Silly boy!! He grabs at his toys on his playmat a little more and will open his hands to grab a toy you give him.

The other week Reid said he is finally enjoying being a dad because he gets more interaction from Carson. It's the cutest thing to see Carson recognizing Reid. He likes to give him lots of smiles when he comes home from work, and he'll mimick noises Reid makes with him during playtime.

We've got a busy fall coming up so you'll be getting more frequent blog posts!! First up is visits from Josh and Nonni, then the first K-State football game. After that a visit from Grammie (while Papa is in the Tetons), a trip to the beach in NC, more hikes for Papa, a mini get-away in Moab, possibly a Sounders soccer game (in Denver) and last but not least Carson gets to go to his first K-State game!! I think that's enough to keep us occupied for a while.
