It's Beginning To "Feel" A Lot Like Christmas (part 3 of 3)

We have finally wrapped up our Christmas festivities and the tree will be coming down later this week! Today we headed to Georgetown, CO where we rode Santa's North Pole Adventure train. We had originally planned to go last Friday, but Colorado's weather had other plans for us! Everything started out great for our little trip to the mountains. We didn't run in to any traffic, so we stopped at a local coffee shop to pass some time. Carson did great, sat in a big seat all by himself and ate a slice of cinnamon swirl bread (while mom enjoyed a delicious cinnamon roll and dad a cup of coffee). The owners were very nice and even had some toys laying around for kids to play. Now on to the train ride. They were handing out free hot cocoa for the passengers and had a wood burning fire outside while we waited for the train to come. Good thing because it was bitter cold! So cold even our snow baby was freezing and so the "fit" began. This kid was a mess and did not calm down until 15 minutes into the train ride, which happened to coincide with them passing out the cookies!

He thankfully calmed down just in time for Santa to visit our car and hand out a bell. Good thing or he would have definitely been on his naughty list. He fussed a little at the first sight of Santa sitting next to him, but warmed up and gave him another high five and fist pound. Silly boy.

Before Santa, someone came through the cars to take family pictures. We reluctantly declined given we had a balling toddler on our hands. But after he calmed down, we asked some of the other passengers for a family photo which turned out great. We wrapped up the train ride in good spirits and enjoyed some of the beautiful scenery. Overall the train was fun, but we will wait until Carson is a little older before going back. Maybe our next train ride will be a date for mommy and daddy on the Octoberfest train ;)

So I mentioned earlier that we had to re-schedule our train ride due to a snow storm that came to Colorado Christmas night. So we might not have been able to go up to the mountains, but we did get to try out some sledding which Carson LOVED! So happy we have a child who is loving the outdoors (minus the windy, bitter cold).
