Carson: 19 Months

I looked at the date this morning and the 22nd snuck up on me this month! So time to recap what little guy has been up to lately. I think we were all sick half of this past month :( Carson at least had half of his flu shot at the time, so didn't catch it quite as bad as the rest of the family. We went back to Kansas for Thanksgiving and he did ok in the car. My plan to stop at a rest area with a play area failed when the weather decided to be FREEZING cold! But he was a trooper and hardly fussed in the car. He also went to his second K-State football game and still didn't enjoy being confined in the stadium seats. He loved playing football with his friend Grayson though. Future best buds attending K-State in the making!!

He is trying so hard to talk and finally says a few words. Ball is ba or baba (we think because we say football, or basketball a lot). He does mommy and dad or daddy, kind of says dog, and the most recent one was cookie which is a slurred cukie sounding. He loves making animal noises still and most recently has started up his obsession again with lights. He loves pointing to the ceiling fans, store lights, you name it he's pointing. I guess he picked a good time of the year with all the Christmas lights out. With this in mind, we took him to a light show at a local garden grounds and I think he enjoyed himself. To keep with the holiday theme, he got to meet both Santa and the Grinch this year. He was more curious about the Grinch and of course didn't like Santa, until he could exchange some ornaments with him.

He's still a crazy boy through and through who goes non-stop all day long.  And speaking of crazy, he got his first major owie this month. While Tara was sick, Reid took Carson to see a movie and fell between the seat and the wall down to the next row which caused him to get a nice cut above his eyes. We wound up in urgent care where he got some surgical glue :( In other news, we've been going through some sort of sleep issue where he takes 45min to an hour to actually go down, so hopefully that ends soon. He still doesn't eat meat very well and has started to set his plate off of his highchair tray to let you know he's done (and try to rip this bib off which looks like him choking himself). But to wrap this update up, he's the happiest little boy who hates being told no (and makes sure you know his dissatisfaction). Until next month...
