Cooper Thomas: 17 Months

Our sweet little Cooper is 100% 'wild and one' right now. He's in to everything, knows what he's not supposed to get in to and goes straight there, but will still (on occasion) want your hugs and to sit in your lap while he flips through a book. Just this past weekend at a cookie exchange party last night, he escaped up the stairs in the first 10 min and by the end of the night was running around with the toilet bowl brush or sticking his hand in the toilet bowl itself. Yikes! He did redeem himself by giving me kisses every 2 seconds as I was trying to say goodbye to everyone.

He seems to be on a bit of a hunger strike at home right now, but continues to love his milk out of one cup style. He's picked up the word "wah wah" which seems to reference anything to drink. He also will hold his up his cup saying "mah" which I always thinks sounds like mom but is his way to say more. And while we are on words he seems to be picking up something new every day. His next word to get (after mama and dada and hi) was "look" which he says with the most expressive face. Our car rides are filled with, "look," "look," "look!" Next up was "wah wah" and then "anta" for the jolly man himself. It's funny because he is NOT a fan of Santa at all! But he likes pointing him out in books.

Cooper loves listening to music and Reid texted one day saying he was doing some moves to Flo-rida! He is his momma's son ;) I also started singing 'If you're happy and you know it' and to my surprise he followed the actions. His other favorite at bed time is the classic Barney song to which he puts his head to the side for 'hug' and will happily give you a 'kiss.' Other things he's learned are the sign for touchdown (or goal) and making a kiss sound (mwah).

This age is so fun and challenging all at the same time but despite the hard times we love Cooper to death and our family wouldn't be complete without him.

*side note this was my worst month to date of picture taking*
