Cooper Thomas: Seven Months

As always I'm a few days late in Coop's update post. But here it is... that's all that counts right?

I'm apparently {blessed} with over-actively children! You are go go go Cooper and since learning to pull yourself on your belly this past month that is your favorite mode of transportation. In fact you just started sitting up well because every time I sit you down you almost instantly go to your belly. You also decided to brave the two small stairs we have in our house and it didn't end very well (side note I just caught you going up them too). Your poor little nose took a beating! Mostly you love to move around to whatever room someone is in or towards whatever toy your brother is playing with. And for a quick brother update he is loving you more and more except when you play with his toys! Your favorite place to sneak off to is the dog corner and you find it hilarious when Snyder licks you in the face (yuck!). You also are getting very good at mimicking our faces and just in the past couple days have started to pull yourself up onto things. Some fun things you did last month were going sledding for the first time and meeting mommy's family in Texas. You aren't too interested in food right now so we are taking that very slowly. You are SUPER cranky in the evenings and the food isn't entertaining you at all. But so far you've tried carrots, oatmeal, avocado banana and mango. Your sleep is coming a bit more consistent, but mostly in the nap department. You were doing good at night until you got a cold that won't go away. I know you'll let me sleep again one day ;) But the best thing of all that happened was the Broncos won the Super Bowl! If you grow up to be a Broncos fan one day, I hope it's a fun thing for you to look back on :)

Happy 7 months {littlest} dude! Mommy, Daddy and Big Brother love you very much!!

I'm Doing Something Right

Phew at least I'm doing something right!

This week has been challenging. With a sick kiddo and work crazier than usual I'm giving so much of myself to the best mom and employee there is. Yes I know I invite the madness into my life working at home with a baby, but it's my time to be with him because one day he won't be home anymore.

How To Do A Snow Day In Colorado

When it snows 12+ inches the only logical thing to do is grab a friend and XC ski the bike trails! 👯🎿

A couple Christmas's ago I got some cross country skis. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to use them so now that more babies are out of the picture I'm excited to get out more and learn.

Hello February

💜 you for lots of reasons.
🎂 It's my birthday month and this year is a special one. My ‪#‎100daysofhealthy‬ will commence meaning I'll be 30! ‪#‎journeytothirty‬
It's the month of love and it's always nice to see more positivity and compassion on my feeds. This one is particularly special as I'm learning to love myself for who I am and I'm helping others do the same. ‪#‎loveyourBOD‬
❄ It's the last month that I embrace and welcome the cold and snow. Denver is kicking it off with a snowstorm!
😜 You're one-of-a-kind and unlike any other month of the year because you have the least amount of days AND decide to throw in an extra day every 4 years ‪#‎happyleapyear‬ We should all be more like February ‪#‎beyourself‬ ‪#‎loveyourself‬
Happy Monday and Happy February everyone! ‪#‎mondaymotivation‬ ‪#‎day77‬

Sunday Funday in Leadville, Colo

I challenge you to top the Sunday I just had. Here's what went down...
My wonderful mother-in-law stayed home with my two kids (2.5yrs and 7 months) so my husband and I could enjoy some time together.
We hit the trails with 8 four-legged friends and took turns driving the sled. Thanks Alpine Adventures Dogsledding for an awesome time!
I dusted off the XC skis and took a few laps on the trails before lunch.
We skied about a mile to Tennessee Pass Cookhouse and Nordic Centerwhere I enjoyed a delicious chicken|apple|brie sandwich and my husband had some tasty salmon tacos. We also might have enjoyed an Elevation Beer Company beer and a warm cookie!
The only thing that would have made our day perfect was no ski traffic! ‪#‎stopmovingtocolorado‬ ‪#‎I70nightmares‬

Soul Cycle Pop-Up

It happened and my first (and hopefully not last) cycle class is in the books!
Target teamed up with SoulCycle to provide pop-up classes across the country and Denver was one of the cities selected. I'll admit I only signed up because a friend mentioned it to try and get a group of us to go together. So when it didn't work out and I was going to venture in my own, I was a little nervous. 😳
After getting signed in I headed up stairs to the "bike room." I got even more nervous when I saw how close the bikes were packed in. I just kept thinking I'm going to make a fool out of myself 😁 So I found my bike, at the front of the room right by the instructor...awesome! (insert sarcasm) The instructor was nice and helped me set up my bike and show me how to click in my shoes and I was ready to go.
As I sat there waiting for the class to start, I gazed the room and kept thinking to myself "I'm going to look like such a fool," "Everyone's going to be watching me up here," "The instructor is going to call me out for not doing something right." And then we started...
My legs were spinning, my heart was pumping, sweat was pouring down my face and I was IN THE ZONE! I've always loved upbeat music and have rhythm (but can't dance for the life of me) so this class had me rocking! 🎧 I loved pushing myself to the beat of the music and while at first I felt a little silly that quickly faded as I put my head down and got to it 👊🏼 And we weren't just spinning. There were push-ups, body extensions, weights and "running" and before I knew it we were at the cool down. 🚴🏼💦💪🏼
I really wish I could have recorded part of the class because it was so much fun. Our instructor was amazing, her energy was contagious and I wish I could have remembered more than one thing she said to us but at least I got one. "It doesn't have to be perfect; you just have to show up, believe you can and enjoy it."

Workouts: #IMaxedOut

Called Sweat Fest for a reason! 💦 The only thing you can't see is my heart beating out of my chest!
