One Year Anniversary

Since Reid begins work tomorrow, we deicded to celebrate our anniversay a week early. We headed down to the Columbia River Gorge which is the Washington/Oregon border about 4 1/2 hours southwest from Spokane. It was BEAUTIFUL!

Our cabin was right on the edge of a bluff in White Salmon, WA. I hung my camera from a nearby tree to get a shot of both of us overlooking the Gorge.
This is the view from our cabin of Mt Hood in Oregon. The river is what divides Washington from Oregon.

We hiked Eagle Creek trail which is about 40 miles east of Portland and 25 min west of where we were staying. This is Punch Bowl Falls, one of the many waterfalls along the hike.
This was the ultimate beauty of a waterfall, which we got to walk behind. Tunnel Falls was the ending destination of our hike and it was definitely worth the six miles of hiking to get to.
Nothing else new with the Jennings family. Snyder continues to fit right in with us. I have now been running everyday (at least 2 miles a day) since we got him and I can already tell a difference in my stamina!
Up next on our calendar is a trip from Josh!

Adding To Our Family!

We have both been wanting a dog for a little while now, and took the opportunity of the move to be able to have one. Meet Snyder!

He is a German Shorthaird pointer who is about a year old. So we choose his adoption date as his birthday! (April 21, 2009) He went to the vet and checked out all healthy! So far he has adapted well. He just needs to work on not following us EVERYWHERE we go in the house. I'm sure that will cure over time.

For being a puppy he sure does sleep A LOT. His mom is nice enough to wake up early and take him on a run before work, and dad finishes up the excercise with a run in the afternoon. Sometimes the family will even take an evening walk together.

He is a smart little guy, and we think we got pretty lucky with finding him. His story was he was found as a stray in Oregon and the man who found him didn't have any time for him and kept him cooped up all the time. Despite all those puppy-dog looks he gives us for not letting him be outside, he's quite the lover and we think he will have a wonderful life as part of our family!!

New Place!!

While our first neighbors gave us great stories for our first year of marriage, we were definetely excited to move on! Here are some pics of our new place (which is just right up the street from where we use to live)

It's Official...

Reid got the official offer letter for the summer (and potentially fall) internship for the construction law firm! He is really excited and thinks this will give him lots of good experience. Congratulations!!!!

Last weekend, Gonzaga Law hosted Heidelberg, better known as "Law Prom," which was pretty fun. As Patti said, it looked like just another Sigma Chi or Chi Omega function : ) It's always nice to get dressed up and be served a "nice" dinner.

As most of you know, we have decided to stay in Spokane and let Reid finish school at Gonzaga. That means it is apartment hunting time. We have quickly realized that we were quite spoiled with our first place (great size and storage for the money) but our neighbors happily re-affirm our reasoning for moving quite often.

We have found a potential apartment and put in the application. Checking out one more place on Friday, but hopefully one of these will be our new home soon!

Signed, Sealed & Delivered

Approx 27 cover letters and resumes were sent out in hopes of Reid obtaining a law internship this summer! Now we play the waiting game...
---UPDATE---Reid heard back the next day from a firm in town. He went on his first interview (in which the lawyer told him not to dress so nice next time) and is now scheduling his second "research" interview. Good news could be coming soon...

Tara is down to her last week of gymnastics!! While she will be sad not to be around kids as much, I think she'll be getting plenty of phone calls to sub!! Plus she's ready to get back into a steady workout routine.

REI Scratch and Dent sale is this weekend. We both have made a list of things to shop for. It sounds like it is going to be pure crazinessness?!?

Happy St Patricks Day!! Hope you're wearing green so you don't get pinched : )

Update...

Haven't been so good at updating lately, so this might turn into a mega-post

Tara heard good news about her job. They are going to hold out until Reid finds out if he is accepted into University of Washington Law School. So that guarantees her a job through July!! She's been contiplating searching for jobs in Spokane until then, but hasn't decided yet.

Tara is also done coaching gymnastics in 3 weeks!!! She couldn't be more exicted to have some time to herself back. She is still going to be a sub when they need the help. 4 days of coaching was just getting to be too much on top of a full-time job.

Reid is starting the process of applying for summer internships. This week we plan to address and stuff LOTS of cover letters and resumes and then we'll cross our fingers and hope for some good news!

Tara's gymnastics company had their Christmas Party in February this year. We did a scavenger hunt through the downtown mall and we started off pretty good, then got totally lost with the clues. Still lots to learn about Spokane :)

Tara celebrated her 24th birthday on the 24th of February. We celebrated by going to see Dear John. Tara read the book which ruined the movie for her (book was better) and Reid also thought the movie had a strange ending. Still nice to get out for a date though!!

My goal is to stay on top of the blog more (we'll see how that goes ;) ) Hope everyone is doing well!!

Toto, I Don't Think We're In Kansas Anymore?

So good to be able to travel back to Kansas for a few days. It didn't feel like we've been away from 7 months!! Enjoyed Mr. Goodcents, Oak Park Mall, lots of family time & even seeing our good friends. We even were able to make it to the K-State game and best of all got to meet our nephew Will (so cute!)
Tara's parents gave us a daily devotional book for couples for us to work through this upcoming year. Hopefully it will teach us some lessons and keep us going strong. But for now it's back to the real world. Reid starts school on Monday and Tara is getting back to the routine of working too much!
